Strengths and trade-offs

What stands out

  • The current offer separates a filing-only package from packages with professional support.
  • Paid tiers list EIN and operating agreement help alongside formation.
  • The pricing page shows the monthly support charges after the introductory period.

Costs and limits to check

  • Registered agent service is separately advertised at $249/year.
  • A package's initial price does not cover advisor subscriptions indefinitely.
  • A refund for a government filing order generally stops being available once documents are submitted.

Choose the support level you will actually use

The current pricing cards call the paid offers Managed Service and Expert Service. Managed includes a business-advisor plan for 30 days, followed by $49 monthly billing. Expert includes a broader support plan for 30 days, followed by $99 monthly billing.

Before selecting a tier, confirm who will answer your question and what help is included. Business-advisor and attorney reviews are different services. Record the renewal date if you only want the initial support period.

Add registered agent service to the comparison

LegalZoom's separate registered agent page advertises $249 a year for first-time registered agent customers. The service automatically renews at the purchase rate, but the terms allow that rate to change.

If you cancel, LegalZoom may require proof that a replacement agent has been designated with the state. Compare this ongoing charge with any other agent you intend to use rather than assuming it is included in the formation price.

The refund window depends on the order's progress

For orders requiring a government filing, the guarantee page allows a refund request within 60 days only while the documents have not been submitted. Once submission occurs, the policy says a refund is unavailable. For a bundle, submission of one included product can make the entire order non-refundable.

Subscription refunds have separate rules, including a 30-day initial request window and exclusions once certain services have been used. Cancelling future billing and receiving a refund for a past charge are different requests.

Before you buy

  1. Compare the selected package's current name and contents with your order summary.
  2. Write down the monthly support renewal and any separate agent charge.
  3. If you change your mind about formation, contact the provider before the government submission.

How we prepared this review

We compared LegalZoom's published offer, recurring charges and service terms. We did not place an order, test support response times or independently measure filing speed. Missing prices and conflicting statements are identified above.

We recommend services for specific needs within the providers reviewed. Each review discloses any confirmed affiliate relationship. We do not assign star ratings or claim to have measured the whole market. Read our comparison method.
