Before you file in Connecticut
Prepare the name, business email, office addresses, agent and at least one member or manager’s details. Choose the NAICS industry code that matches the main business activity.
File the Certificate of Organization
- Open Connecticut’s business registration service and choose a domestic LLC.
- Enter the business details, add the agent and complete the required member/manager information.
- Have the organizer sign, pay and submit. Save the approved certificate and entity reference.

What to enter in the form
- Business email
- Use an inbox the company will continue to monitor for state notices.
- Agent
- Name the individual or company that has agreed to act and complete its acceptance process.
- Member or manager
- List at least one member or manager with the business and residence addresses. Using only a business address requires the Secretary of the State to accept a good-cause exception; do not omit the residence address without that approval.
- Legal structure

After approval in Connecticut
